The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has started a probe on the complaint of Karapatan, an advocacy group, against a Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) official who allegedly harassed women protesters last July 16.
Cristina “Tinay” Palabay, Karapatan secretary general, posted on social media a photograph of the protesters and the DILG official she accused of harassing them. The protest was held outside the DILG offices in Quezon City.
In her post, Palabay said: “This certain Noel Dumalag of the Emergency Operations Command of the DILG (the guy in green) told me this morning (July 16) to eat his [expletive] after he harassed, pushed, harangued a majority of women protesters, including mothers, wives and sisters of drug war victims in the peaceful protest action which observed physical distancing and health protocols.”
