Defiantly rolling a joint and smoking it in front of police officers has led to the arrest of a local transient.
Iowa City Police were called to an address on Whispering Meadow Drive just after 7pm Tuesday for a reported no-contact order violation. Arriving officers found 36-year-old transient Joni Reed inside the master bedroom. The home’s resident told investigators he came home to find an intoxicated Reed inside his house.
Police say Reed yelled at them for “quite some time” and refused to comply with their commands. She then rolled a marijuana joint in front of them and began smoking it.
