But you need to understand lawyers lawyers dont play fair. , they argue two things. They can argue, look that the , person did not do the crime, the person was not guilty. But usually in a political scandal, the argument is, there was not enough proof to find them guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Very high standard. It is not that they were blameless. Its not that they were innocent. We say, we would rather let 100 guilty go free than convict one innocent man. Properly, then it cant come in. If you did not share information properly with the defense, those procedural violations can equally invalidate a verdict. I am happy to argue both. So that is kind of what we are going to go through. Presidency through teaching, research, Public Outreach events and also through its collective memory project which is an oral history run by staff on the center who film and record archives of people who have been in various administrations as well as local officials who work closely with those administrations. The center also runs a very robust postdoctoral Fellowship Program. Its been in effect for an five years and its rapidly become probably the most influential and famous Fellowship Program of its kind. Each who completes the term has published a book or contracted a book at a Major University press such as harvard, cornell, and they all get jobs and thats a good thing. Were very proud of them. Started off with veterans day. A wonderful day. 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, armistice day, a day we now observe as veterans day. Every day is veterans day for us on tuesday. We passed a packet of bills, nine bills, to improve the lives of our veterans, our heroes in uniform. Among the bills we were very roud to pass the deborah act which reduces barriers for Women Veterans to access v. A. , including antiharassment initiatives. This has a broad base of support and we are very proud to be passing it. The day after veterans day. Monday night when i came into town i went to the world war ii memorial to see who was there and just to visit it again. I love going there. Its so inspiring.
