ISLAMABAD: Emphasising the need for bringing about a permanent peace in Afghanistan to attain regional stability, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday called for foiling Indian propaganda by presenting facts and exposing its nefarious designs before the international community.
“There is no military solution to the conflict in Afghanistan; it should be resolved through negotiated political settlement,” the prime minister said during a meeting with Afghan Minister for Industry and Commerce Nisar Ahmed Faizi Ghoryani, who called on him at the Prime Minister House.

Islamabad, December 30, 2020 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Imran Khan has reiterated Pakistan’s consistent support to a negotiated political settlement for peace and stability in Afghanistan as there is no military solution to the conflict in the war torn country. Talking to Afghanistan’s Minister for Industry and Commerce Nisar Ahmed Faizi Ghoryani in Islamabad on Wednesday, he stressed the need for all sides to take measures for reduction of violence leading to ceasefire.
The Prime Minister said that peace in Afghanistan would be beneficial for the entire region by enhancing regional connectivity and providing new opportunities for economic cooperation. He remarked that Pakistan and Afghanistan have untapped economic synergies which could be best realized through cooperation in the economic and trade sphere.
Afghanistan, Pakistan Eye New Railway Link Project
Nisar Ahmed Faizi Ghoryani, the Afghan Minister for Industry and Commerce, on Wednesday met Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad and the two discussed issues around bilateral relations including the expansion of a railway line project between the Afghan cities of Mazar-e-Sharif – Kabul and Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
“The Prime Minister mentioned the Trans-Afghan railway line project, “Mazar-e-Sharif – Kabul – Peshawar,” and highlighted Pakistan’s support to Uzbekistan’s efforts to secure financing for the project. In this regard, he mentioned that he had signed a Joint Appeal Letter addressed to the Heads of various International Financial Institutions (IFIs) by Heads of State/Government of Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan,” the office of Pakistan’s Prime Minister said in a statement on Wednesday.
