Balasore tragedy: Rs 51 37 cr disbursed as ex-gratia payment to next of kin, victims of Balasore tragedy: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

The Railway Ministry has disbursed a payment of Rs 51.37 crore as ex-gratia and compensation to the next of kin and victims of the Balasore train tragedy, which resulted in the deaths of 296 passengers and injuries to over 1,200. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed the compensation in response to queries from BJD MPs Sulata Deo and Niranjan Bishi in the Rajya Sabha.
