Candidates have to pay Rs 250 for each subject for theory examination and the examination fee for subjects including both theories and practicals is Rs 120.

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) on Wednesday cancelled the Class 10 board examinations and postponed Class 12 board examinations due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. The Class 10 board exams of NIOS were scheduled to be held in June. The Public Exam in Theory & Practical of Secondary courses scheduled in June 2021 are hereby canceled and the Public Exam in Theory & Practical of Senior Secondary & Vocational courses scheduled in June 2021 are hereby postponed till further order, NIOS said in an official notice.

NIOS students demand cancellation of board exams, want promotion based on internal assessment
Students of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) have demanded cancellation of board examinations this year, citing several issues. Reaching out on Twitter, several students requested the authorities to promote them on the basis of internal assessment. The India Wide Parents Association wrote to Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, and the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, raising concerns of the NIOS students. Books were delivered late amid COVID pandemic, some students in remote areas still waiting for books, this affected their preparations for examinations, the letter read.Â
