Take you back, with a carjacking in bay point just before 6 p. M. A man stole a bmw from a driver at gunpoint. Antioch police then spotted the stolen car a few minutes later and chased it to pittsburg where the driver crashed the car and immediately got out and started firing a shotgun hitting one of the officers. Heres a witness. I watched him go down and, you know, i wasnt sure if he slipped and fell or but to me, it looked like he, um, was basically forced, you know. So he was zigzagging and took a shot, uhm i didnt realize it was to the head. Reporter the other officers around him fired back and finally that man the suspected carjacker surrendered to police. There was no traffic, but now it ckz loo now it looks like things are open. Theyre running a traffic break and now everybody is getting through. Bay bridge toll plaza, that is backed up for a 20 to 25minute delay and traffic is busy. Slow traffic westbound 580 near grant line. There was a crash. If you come in from tracy, that whole stretch is bad. But if you get on the freeway at livermore and west of that it is not bad at all.
