Patient care hubs reopen amid Covid-19 surge in Baguio

(PNA file photo) BAGUIO CITY - The city government has reactivated its temporary treatment and monitoring facilities (TTMFs) following the continued surge in coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases. Public Information Office chief Aileen Refuerzo, in a message on Thursday evening, said the City Health Services Office (HSO) has activated the Eurotel and Pinkhouse TTMFs, after these were temporarily closed in December due to an improved Covid-19 situation. The TTMFs are directly handled by the HSO and managed by the city government. From only 40 active cases as of Dec. 30, 2021, the Department of Health-Cordillera that the city's active Covid-19 cases jumped to 4,272, with 587 new cases logged as of Thursday. The city still has two other similar facilities ready to be activated to accommodate Covid-19 patients. (PNA file photo) BAGUIO CITY -The city government has approved the allocation of PHP94.29 million additional coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) response fund for the year. Jordan Habbiling, Public Information Officer (PIO) of the Baguio City Council, on Friday said the legislative branch approved the allocation in a special session Thursday due to the urgency of the request of Mayor Benjamin Magalong. Habbiling said the council approved the request for a supplemental budget to augment the dwindling funds of the city for its Covid-19 operations. He said the mayor's request came as a priority due to the continuing increase in Covid-19 cases in the city. As of Thursday, the city has 128 new Covid-19 cases which brought the overall tally of active cases to 2,753.

LTFRB-CAR launches free rides for healthcare workers in Baguio City Philippine Information Agency 30 Apr 2021, 22:38 GMT+10 BAGUIO CITY, April 30(PIA) The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board(LTFRB) - Cordillera Regional Office launched this week free ride for healthcare workers in the city to help ease the burden of commuting to their work places during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Four modernized jeepney units from the Baguio Benguet Transport Cooperative were initially dispatched for a 24/7 free ride which started at 6:00 AM on Tuesday, April 27. The route structure covers Pines City Doctors Hospital - Magsaysay Ave - Sto Nino Hospital - Lower P. Burgos - Buhagan Rd - F. Yandoc St - Chuntug - Harisson Rd - BGH - Gov Pack Rd - UP Drive - T.M.
