We should not overpromise and underdeliver. This budget provides schools the stability, predictability and funding they need and deserve the governor put the e pplement state aid increase for prek through 12th grade at slightly more than 145Million Dollars. But here at north cedar schools, thats not enough to rescue thiss small district from a downward trend in both enrollment and the need to make more cuts next fall. The district graduated 70 students last year but added only 49 in kindergarten. So a two and a half percent increase in per student aid wont make up for losing students.
