The Malta Sustainability Forum, organised by APS Bank, is soon to be hosted over five days in a major online event featuring a superb line-up of local and international expert speakers.
The hugely successful first edition of the forum in 2019 offered a platform for some of the world’s experts to contribute to an open – and increasingly critical – dialogue regarding sustainability. To continue the momentum while ensuring the safety of speakers and attendees, the 2021 edition is set to be hosted online between 25 and 29 January.
“Under the overarching theme ‘The Time is Now’ we want to draw the attention of all stakeholders and the public at large that efforts done over the last five years need to be amplified. The pandemic has provided an immense appetite and opportunity for change, let’s seize it!” explains Herve Delpech, Chief Strategy Officer at APS Bank.
Company presents a donation of €70,000 in aid of the Istrina campaign
Notwithstanding the challenging times, GO still honoured its CSR commitments with continued support and donations of funds and equipment to several NGOs and charity organisations.
Besides supporting the annual Istrina campaign with a monetary donation of €70,000, GO is this year further cementing its support to the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation with the signing of a new four-year agreement to help it achieve its more long-term goals.
“GO has always been and will always remain at the heart of the Maltese community and this is why we have committed to a four-year support agreement with the MCCFF. We believe in the unique role that the MCCFF has in supporting the Maltese community and we believe that since this is also in line with our mission of leaving no one behind, joining forces can only lead to more positive outcomes,” GO CEO Nikhil Patil said.
2020 has transformed the traditional workplace for thousands of businesses across the globe, and for GO it has been no different. It has, however, been a year of cultural growth and learnings for the company and one that has defined its employer brand.

Notwithstanding the huge challenges, employees remained at the top of GO’s agenda. All employees still enjoyed free health insurance, free GO services, full flexibility at work and no deductions in salaries, not to mention additional extra days of leave, as well as a GO Company Holiday, which was given to all employees as part of the mental health initiative.

Mira Bhayandar: Youngsters come to the rescue of crumbling Dharavi Fort in Uttan

Stung by the apathy of the Archaeological Survey of India and the civic authorities towards the ill-maintained state of the historic Dharavi Fort built by the brave warrior Chimaji Appa during the 17th century at Dongri village in Uttan near Bhayandar, a group of young heritage lovers under the aegis of Yuva Pratishtan have been dutifully visiting the fort to conduct shram daan (voluntary service) for the past four years.
Their dedication has emerged as a ray of hope for the Dharavi Fort and crumbling walls of other heritage structures in the state which are the legacy of great warriors. While the authorities are still to wake up from their slumber, apathy and irresponsible behaviour shown by visitors is also visible in the entire fort area.
