Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir Donation Campaign Ends, Collection Crosses Rs 2100 Crore
The donation campaign which is a part of the 44-day fund-raising campaign launched by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), for Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir construction concluded on Saturday. The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has received more than Rs 2,100 crore from the public for the construction of a grand temple.
According to the reports, the trust has estimated that they have collected more than Rs 2,100 crore donations by means of crowdsourcing. In fact, Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust had anticipated that it might receive around Rs 1,100 crore for building the Ram temple complex as it launched the crowdfunding campaign on January 15. Inspired by His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha recently donated Rs. 21,111,111 to support the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir’s construction in Ayodhya.
The trust has been mandated to collect
The fund collection campaign will be carried out across 52,50,00 villages and the money collected will be deposited in banks within 48 hours. Funds above Rs 20,000 will be collected through cheques.
Earlier, the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Shetra Trust had announced that the Ram temple in Ayodhya will be constructed using only domestic funds collected from the general public through a mass contact programme.
Champat Rai, the general secretary of the trust, underlinend that the trust will start the mass contact and contribution campaign across the country for the construction of the temple.
He said that the trust did not have the required approval for accepting donations from abroad.
