Faribault Man Dies in Fatal North Mankato Car Crash According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 31-year-old Faribault man has died after getting into a car crash on Highway 169 in North Mankato this morning. The Minnesota State Patrol reported that 31-year-old Brandon Kath of Faribault was killed after the 2007 Caddilac Escalade he was driving struck a parked vehicle in a parking lot and then rolled. Before the crash, Kath was Northbound on Highway 169, when the vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle Kath hit, a 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara, was unoccupied. The Minnesota State Patrol reported that Kath was unbelted at the time of the crash, which was reported at 5:39AM.

(KEYC) The Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that it is investigating a string of thefts from mailboxes. Authorities say individuals were seen Monday in a black sedan passenger vehicle taking mail from mailboxes. Several pieces of mail have been recovered belonging to residents in Nicollet, Sibley, McLeod and Steele counties. They add that it appears these subjects are targeting mail containing personal checks or cash.

Jan 29, 2021 NICOLLET COUNTY The Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office reported receiving multiple reports Jan. 28 of people receiving phone calls informing them a family member, most likely a grandchild, was arrested in another state. “They’re asking for $3,000 to $5,000 and that the money be sent in cash,” said Nicollet County Investigator Marc Chadderdon. “(Callers) say they will send UPS or FedEX to your house to pick up a package of cash and deliver it overnight to help their family member.” Scammers take advantage of your emotions and want you to make a quick transaction that you will later regret,” read a Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office press release.
