PORTSMOUTH Developers are proposing to demolish the Deer Street building that is now home to the Statey Bar & Grill and replace it with a new mixed-use building with as many as 21 micro housing units.
Documents filed with the city – and statements made by the developers’ representatives – say the new building would feature commercial or retail on the ground floor and micro unit apartments of less than 500 square feet
in the three floors above.
Reached late Wednesday afternoon, Statey owner Eli Sokorelis said the plan to demolish the existing building is “only one of the options.”
