Lafayette. Sunnyvale police say a car suspect tried to run over a Police Officer and that Police Officer opened fire at 6 30 last night on El Camino Real. An unmarked suv pulled up in front of a White Mercedes sedan that allegedly was stolen in santa clara. An officer from the Santa Clara Police department got out and walked toward the car. Well, thats when they say the driver tried to ram the officer. The officer fired several shots at the car. But no one was hit. Just boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Officer fearing for his life fired at the vehicle. The vehicle was seen fleeing northbound on wolf road. A Second Police cruiser chased the suspect but couldnt keep up. Police dont know how many people were inside the sedan and so far, they have no description of any suspects.
