Since last February, a program that partners police officers with social workers to form mental health crisis response units has offered help to more than 1,200 Lake County residents.
The Lake County Community Foundation recently announced more than $500,000 in grants, combined with another $500,000 in grants from an LCCF donor-advised fund holder, was awarded to 33 local nonprofits serving the needs of their Lake County neighbors.
Over the course of three weeks in June, the Libertyville Sunrise Rotary Club hosted a total of 38 charitable organizations at its morning meetings to give out $85,000 in grants.
