Cross Roads-based cat charity launches Christmas campaign

A CROSS Roads-based charity has launched a Christmas fundraising campaign.

Get feline fit to raise funds for cat cause, Keighley people are urged

Yorkshire Cat Rescue is challenging the public to run, walk or cycle to raise funds. The latest national lockdown means the charity has had to close its shops – including the outlet in Cavendish Street, Keighley – and curtail fundraising activities. Like other causes, it’s struggling for revenue. “We’re a small charity that exists to save the lives of abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens,” said fundraiser Nic Willis, organiser of the challenge. “The past year has been extremely difficult and coming-up with new ways to engage people and encourage them to donate or raise money has become more challenging. So many of us indulge a little too much over the festive period, so what better way to motivate yourself than by setting a fitness target and raising money. In total we aim to complete 551 miles – the number of cats we rehomed last year.”
