The raids are being carried out to break the nexus between gangsters and Khalistani terror networks. However, there has not been any official confirmation yet.
The NIA has launched a multi-state crackdown on the nexus between criminal syndicates in India and Khalistani separatists and terrorists based in countries like Pakistan and Canada, who use these networks for terror-related activities.
The raids were reportedly related to cases against gangsters and their criminal syndicate, particularly related to the Lawrence Bishnoi and Bambiha gangs and Pakistan-based terror operative Harwinder Singh Rinda, sources said.
NIA conducted raids at multiple locations in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) to dismantle and disrupt the emerging nexus between terrorists, gangsters, drug smugglers and traffickers based in India and abroad
