Sunday has been a day of rescues in the Mediterranean sea as the Italian Coast Guard along with European charities such as Sea-Watch and SOS Mediterannee rescued over 1,100 migrants, adrift near the Libyan coast and other places.

Acting on a petition filed by Human Rights Activist Radhakanta Tripathy, the NHRC has directed the district Collector and, the Superintendent of Police of Balasore and the Secretary of Power of the Odisha government to submit the action taken report within four weeks In its order, the commission said Tripathy has mentioned a tragic incident wherein one Anil Kumar Sahu of Agarada village in Balasore district of Odisha died on July 1 last on account of electrocution during Rath Yatra celebration at Gudikhala Mutt under Basta police limit of Balasore district.
