Tata Motors has won compensation worth more than ₹766 crore after its Singur plant in West Bengal was scrapped in 2007 following protests. Tata had invested over ₹1,000 crore for this facility which was supposed to be the hub for the manufacturing of its smallest car Nano.
Tata Motors, which already leads the electric vehicle race in India by a big margin over other EV makers, wants 50 per cent of its vehicles to be electric soon.
