The HR head of NewsClick - the news website being investigated under the anti-terror law UAPA for connections to China-linked entities to receive funding to broadcast Chinese propaganda - has filed an application to become a government witness.
The Supreme Court today while hearing the plea by News Click Chief Editor Prabir Purkayastha petition challenging his arrest by the Delhi Police under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
The high court said there was no ‘procedural infirmity or violation of the provisions’ of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in the arrests of NewsClick founder Prabir Purkayastha and HR head Amit Chakravarty
