Vehicle fire extinguished Tuesday | News, Sports, Jobs

The fire call came in at 10:03 a.m. from 1218 N. Front St. Second Assistant Fire Chief Missy Visser said the fire call came from Tanner Burden. He was scrapping a Ford SUV. In the process of removing the gas tank, the fire started. Strong winds fed the flames and the fire spread to a small passenger bus parked adjacent to the SUV. The bus was completely engulfed by the fire. Fire Chief Paul Macho said it took some time before the fire was fully extinguished. The vehicles still had gas in them, which fueled the fire. The strong winds were also created a challenge.

New Ulm Fire Chief Paul Macho said nobody was injured in the fire at the Nina Lovell residence that was caused by smoking materials.
