Closed campuses, canceled seminars, delayed guest lectures, and postponed special events the pandemic has scuttled higher education plans by the thousands. But sometimes, those cast-off plans have led to new, even stronger strategies and dramatic new beginnings.
That’s the case with the Divinity School’s Center for Continuing Education, which was a toddling six months old when the coronavirus caused international shutdowns in March 2020.
The new Center’s main goal was to reach beyond the walls of the school and into the New Haven-area community with offerings of on-campus lectures, courses of study, and singular events all for free and mostly in person.

An operator of a relaxation spot in Enugu metropolis is now counting his losses following an inferno which wreaked havoc in the New Haven Area of Enugu State.
The fire, which consumed Brozar Bar and Grill, was said to have been caused by activities of those involved in bush burning.
The CEO of the relaxation spot, Ozo Ramsey S. Onyia, while counting his losses, said it was regrettable that people had continued to ignore the government’s warning against bush burning.
Providing details on how the fire started, he said, “at about 1.00 p.m., we noticed that there was fire in the bush behind the fence of our bar.

But it’s beyond just numbers. Or rather India has a very long and strong history in numbers, for example establishing zero and via that, the decimal system. My working assumption is that the average person of every nation is equally hard working and talented. But the US (and other Western countries) don’t let in the average Indian, they let in the ones more hard working and talented than average. That’s what I meant to say. Not to denigrate the average Indian.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. A new program is helping seniors get signed up for the COVID-19 vaccine appointments as they deal with challenges like navigating online portals, a lack of internet, or not having a ride to their vaccine site.
The Vaccine Buddy Program is a partnership between the Interfaith Volunteer Care Givers of Greater New Haven and the Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut.
Chances are good that the gun used to kill the person you read about on the streets of Bridgeport, New Haven, Hartford, Stamford, Danbury, Norwalk or Waterbury came from another state, often, but not always, down south where the laws are less stringent, authorities say.
And if a gun is in the hands of a criminal, it may well be used in multiple shootings and other crimes, authorities say.
“I’ve seen (evidence) of a gun being used in 10-15 different crimes” in Connecticut metropolitan areas, said Scott Riordan, resident agent in charge of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ Connecticut Office in New Haven. “That’s how a lot of our gang cases are worked.”
