The Delhi Police Railway unit and Railway Police Force (RPF) conducted security patrols and bag checks at New Delhi Railway Station ahead of the G20 Summit, which will be held in the national capital from September 9-10. The Delhi government has also issued a gazette notification imposing traffic restrictions, including banning certain vehicles from certain roads, during the summit. India assumed the G20 presidency in December 2020 and has organized numerous meetings across the country in preparation for the summit.

G-20 Summit: Delhi govt issues notification on traffic restrictions to be imposed during G20 Summit

The Delhi government has issued a gazette notification announcing traffic restrictions in the city during the upcoming G20 Summit. The notification states that certain roads will be closed to goods vehicles, commercial vehicles, interstate buses, and local city buses from September 7 to September 10. However, vehicles carrying essential commodities will be allowed to enter Delhi. The entire New Delhi District will be designated as a controlled zone, and only authorized vehicles will be allowed to ply on the roads. Additionally, no TSR and taxi will be permitted in the district during the specified period. India will host the G20 Summit in New Delhi on September 9-10.
