COVID-19 UPDATE (MONDAY)
Medical Officer, DR. Jennifer Russel says extensive contact tracing work and
the cooperation of residents has limited the risk of community transmission
in those regions.
Moncton region will stay red for now. Public Helath says it hopes to be able
to recomend the other health zones; Bathurst, Campbellton and Miramichi,
return to the yellow phase later this week.
Meanwhile Dr. Russel announced 27 new confirmed cases in New Brusnwick on Monday,
with four of those in Moncton, one in Saint John, three in Federicton, and 19
in the Edmundston-Grand Falls halth zone. Public Health is also reporting a
Northwest N.B. prepares to enter full lockdown, province confirms 17 new cases
The Edmundston and Grand Falls region will see businesses shut down and schools close as it enters a strict lockdown at midnight on Saturday.

FREDERICTON While most of us are looking forward to seeing an end to this pandemic-stricken year, the final day of 2020 is also one of celebration for the premier of New Brunswick it s his mother s 100th birthday. Blaine Higgs says his mother is excited about marking a century of life, and says she will have a small gathering of family at her home in Forest City, a small rural community on the New Brunswick-Maine border. I call mom and ask, how are you feeling? She says, well I m 100, how do you think? Higgs said, during a recent interview with The Canadian Press. She kind of jokes around about it but in reality, she s excited about her birthday.
