Santa cruz sheriffs deputies have arrested a man suspected of selling deadly doses of fake xanax. 22yearold Daniel Meehan of watsonville is accused of distributing the counterfeit drugs. He was arrested last friday. Deputies recovered cocaine, cash, several guns including a semiautomatic rifle. They say meehan sold tablets that killed two men one in watsonville, the other in aptos. Sheriffs detectives interviewed meehan and he told him that he had in fact supplied one of the decedents with the lethal medication but didnt realize that what he thought was an antidepressant was actually fentanyl. Deputies say meehan tried to destroy the pills after he found out they were dangerous. It is unclear if he is tied to three other deaths in San Francisco. Ambulance crew, refused transport. Kristen he was awoken just in time. Once the firefighters arrived, the flames swept fast. We had crews internally to stop it. It got up into the attic and quickly spread throughout the rest of the building. At that point we had to pull our crews out. Kristen more than 60 firefighters came to help, water had to be shuttled in from over a mile away. The amount of fire there was in that old of a building, it was an uphill battle. Kristen the building has been torn down for safety. It was built in 1935 according to the historical society. Im upset, it was a beautiful home.
