The United Way of Crookston proudly announces the addition of four new Board members.
Tanner Holten is an Associate Attorney at Reynolds, Harbott, Knutson and Larson Law Firm. Tanner and his wife Lauren have two children, Cooper and Briar. Tanner is excited to be more involved in the community, meet new people and help the United Way in their mission of serving others.
Anna Olson is an Ag Banker at Bremer Bank in Crookston. Anna is excited to meet new people and make a difference in Crookston and the surrounding communities that the United Way serves.

Once again virtually, the United Way of Crookston Board is recognizing the “outstanding community members who helped us make the 2020 fundraising campaign a success,” outgoing Board Chair Jacqueline Cournia says.
“In a very difficult year, the needs of the community are greater than ever and the United Way is very proud to announce that under the leadership of Executive Director Lori Wagner, the annual fundraising goal was met again through the commitment and dedication by so many in and around the Crookston community,” Cournia says. “The following individuals have been long time supporters of the United Way and of the Crookston Community and we are indebted to each and every one of them.”

The United Way of Crookston is proud to announce that, in what was dubbed as “one of the toughest years ever,” they are 1% over their fundraising campaign goal just as outgoing Executive Director Lori Wagner celebrated her last day of work April 15. “A special thank you to Lori for all of her work and dedication towards reaching this goal for our agencies!” said incoming board chair Nell DeBoer. “Of course Becky (Cymbaluk) is the second half of this dedicated team and keeps things rolling smoothly.”

Crookston Visitors Bureau looks to replace two Welcome to Crookston signs

The Crookston Visitors Bureau is forming a subcommittee of collaborators and stakeholders with the goal of replacing the “Welcome to Crookston” signs posted at the main entrances into town along U.S. Highway 2 and Highway 75.
The current wooden signs are decades old and have been spruced up now and then over the years, with most of the work involving fresh coats of paint and some other touch-ups.
CVB agreement approved, lodging tax check given

The agreement between the new Crookston Visitors Bureau and City of Crookston was approved by the city council this week and City Administrator Amy Finch handed CVB Chair Nell DeBoer a check for $23,766.15 from lodging taxes that have been collected in 2020 after the former agreement with the Crookston Area Chamber of Commerce was terminated.
The CVB is currently working on a new visitors guide and website to start marketing Crookston for overnight stays and tourism.
“This money is really going to help us with the visitors guide and website,” DeBoer said. “There are definitely more exciting things to come.”
