Westport kicks off inaugural Pride Month celebration

The town of Westport’s inaugural Pride Month celebration is underway.
Brian McGunagle and his husband moved to Westport four years ago, where they now raise their son. But McGunagle says he didn t feel like there was a noticeable LGBTQ community. What I was seeing and hearing was there wasn t really a cohesive message within the community and I think especially for younger people, there really weren t visible role models, he says.
McGunagle recently started Westport Pride - a group of LGBTQ residents and allies who are standing up to create a supportive culture.
