The day aims to promote regular blood donations to ensure that all individuals have access to affordable and timely supplies of safe blood in times of emergency needs. Dimapur, June 8 (EMN): Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland (IRCSN) flagged off a new ambulance service at Raj Bhavan in Kohima on Wednesday. The new ambulance service was one among 39 distributed by the National Headquarters (NHQ) of Indian Red Cross Society and International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) to various state branches in the country, which was formally launched on April 4 at Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi, stated IRCSN general secretary, Dr. Neiphi Kire. “We are happy that Nagaland is one of the recipients of this Basic Life Support Ambulance (BLSA) for rendering humanitarian services to this part of the country,” Dr. Kire said. He informed that the Ambulance has facilities for oxygen administration, suction machine, IV drip, air condition facilities etc. Dr. Kire stated that the Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland has worked out the modalities for operationalising the ambulance and its proper maintenance.
