EOI - seeking new EDITOR, RADIODOC REVIEW

Dr Neil Verma’s term as editor RDR (2020-2023) is drawing to a close, and we salute his vision and commitment over that period. The editor’s position is now open, for two years, from Feb 2023 to Jan 2025. Over ten issues to date, RadioDoc Review (RDR) has published 89 articles written by experts from Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, Africa and Australia, addressing diverse audio works and fiction/nonfiction podcasts/radio from a broad geographical range. This body of critical analysis is developing the theory and practice of the audio documentary /feature /storytelling podcast form and establishing a canon of crafted audio works. RDR articles and nominated audio works are set texts in several universities and are increasingly cited in scholarly publications. Bodies in Waiting : Remapping Gender, Labour, and Histories of the Indian Film Industry (1930s–1950s)

Reflecting on the burgeoning field of feminist media histories and contemporary debates around Shanta Apte’s films, protests, and writing, along with sources that bring narratives from different women in the film industry, this paper argues that such discussions enable us to rethink questions of gender, creative labour, characteristics of film work, and the industrial milieu.
