Police said the message, typed in Hindi, read, "Allah Hafiz Sude family. Stop searching for Bhagyashree. We have kidnapped her. We have sent her to a foreign country.."
The probe revealed that after the murder, the accused persons fled towards Satara via the Mumbai-Bangalore highway in cars. Accordingly, police launched a massive search operation and nabbed the eight accused near Shirwal on the Pune Satara highway in two cars, within eight hours, on Friday evening.
Today, Aranha, Bhushan Patil and Balkawade were produced before a magistrate court in Pune. Assistant public prosecutor Neelam Yadav Ithape sought police custody of three accused for seven days to probe their role in Patil's escape from Sassoon hospital on October 2.
