Mahashivratri festival starts at Purmandal, Peerkho Jammu & Shiv Khori
Tourism Department alongwith the district administration Jammu has made elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of the festival.
The festival hosted a variety of programmes which inter alia included Cultural events depicting local folk dances organised through J&K Academy of Art, Culture and languages, food stalls of Dogra cuisines, departmental stalls of Handicraft, Handloom, Industries & Commerce, JKTDC and Agriculture Department etc. The main highlight of the festival is cultural events depicting local folklore.
The festival was inaugurated jointly by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma and Director Tourism Jammu, Dr. Naseem Javed Chowdhary, in presence of Deputy Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, Purnima Sharma and other officers of Tourism Department, District administration and Peer Kho Mandir Committee.

JAMMU, Jan 25: To celebrate the National Tourism Day, 2021, a Bike Rally was today organised by Directorate of Tourism Jammu.
The rally was flagged off by Mayor, Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta and Director Tourism, R K Katoch, from Jammu Tawi Golf Course.
Around 50 bikers participated in the Bike Rally, which will cover tourist destinations of Surinsar, Mansar, Mahoregarh Fort and Chichi Mata Mandir.
The Director Tourism, informed that the objective of organising a Bike Rally is to promote tourist destinations in the UT and to explore the unexplored destinations of Jammu Division.

JAMMU, Jan 12: Directorate of Tourism, Jammu, as per the yearly practice, today organised a function here at historical Raghunath Bazar to celebrate Lohri- the auspicious festival, symbolizing fertility and spark of life..
The event was held in collaboration with the Raghunath Bazar Businessmen Association, Residency Road, Karan Market and others by strictly following COVID-19 protocols. Director Tourism, Kashmir/Managing Director, JKTDC, Nissar A. Wani was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The event started with lighting of traditional lamp by the chief guest and Director Tourism, Jammu, R.K. Katoch amid chanting of Vedic mantras.
Tawi Trekkers organise trekking

JAMMU, Dec 12: Tawi Trekkers J&K in collaboration with Directorate of Tourism Jammu organised short trek from Panthal to Devi Pindian, near the holy town of Katra on the occasion of ‘International Mountain Day’.
The motive of short trek was to aware people about the importance of mountains wherein a group of 22 members including five girls participated.
The group led by Vivek Chauhan, Principal of Oriental Academy Senior Secondary School Jammu was flagged off by Neelam Khajuria, Joint Director Tourism Jammu in presence of Ambika Bali, Assistant Director Tourism.
Both the officers also participated in the day long trek. Prominent among the participants included Ram Khajuria, president and senior members of Tawi Trekkers, Sumit Khajuria, Sushil Singh, Sonam Sidharth and Manik Slathia besides International sport climbers Shivani Charak, Arun Deep and Shilpa Charak and Sanjeev Sharma, executive editor Sportsline wer
