A total of 12,386 displaced and disadvantaged workers in the informal sector benefitted from the department's Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program in the January to March period. "TUPAD has become a very important financial safety net for many of our informal workers. We are grateful to have been part of a program that has recreated jobs and provided a respite for those most affected by the pandemic," Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said in a statement on Sunday.
