Authorities have suspended mobile internet services in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar parliamentary constituency as precautionary measure. Srinagar and Udhampur are going for polls today in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections. The polling is scheduled to begin at 7 am and continue till 6 pm. 11 states and a Union territory are exercising their franchise. Polling will seal the political future of a total of 85 candidates contesting from different parties in the EVMs.
National Conference president Farooq Abdullah and former chief minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday cast their vote in Srinagar Parliamentary constituency. Mobile internet services have been snapped in Srinagar and other parts of the Valley as a precautionary measure, as Srinagar and Udhampur parliamentary constituencies are voting today in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

SRINAGAR, Dec 16: Two youth have gone missing from Natipora area of Srinagar sparking fears among their families of them having joined militant ranks .Meanwhile, police suspects their involvement in the attack on PDP leaders house in the locality, according to a local news agency GNS.
Irfan Ahmad Sofi, son of Nazir Ahmad Sofi and Bilal Manzoor Bhat, son of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, both residents of Natipora Srinagar, as per their families, went missing on December 14, the day militants shot dead the PSO of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Haji Parvaiz.
Missing Srinagar Boy Joins Militant Ranks, Audio Viral on Social Media
SRINAGAR: A missing youth from central Kashmir’s Srinagar district has reportedly joined militant ranks.
The young boy, identified as Irfan Ahmad Sofi Son of Nazir Ahmad Sofi, resident of Natipora area of Srinagar, went missing on Dec 14 this month, the day when militants shot dead a PSO of a PDP leader at Natipora. After the disappearance, a missing report was lodged at Police Post Chanapora, according to his family.
On Thursday evening, an audio message purportedly of Saqib went viral on social media, which announced his joining into militant ranks.

Irfan Ahmad Sofi, son of Nazir Ahmad Sofi and Bilal Manzoor Bhat, son of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, both residents of Natipora Srinagar, as per their families, went missing on December 14 the day militants shot dead the PSO of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Haji Parvaiz.
Bilal who has got engaged recently is a crockery dealer and Irfan an auto-driver, the families told GNS.
“Our sons left home on the afternoon of December 14 (Monday) and there is no trace of them since then,” the families said, adding, “We have registered missing reports in police station Chanapora.”
