Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh has been transferred to Maharashtra’s Home Guard department, state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh tweeted on Wednesday.
Maharashtra Director General of Police (DGP) Hemant Nagrale is the new Mumbai Police Commissioner, Anil Deshmukh said in his tweet.
Rajneesh Sheth will have the additional charge of Maharashtra’s Director General of Police, while Sanjay Pandey has the responsibility of the Maharashtra State Security Corporation, according to Deshmukh.

Singh has been given the responsibility of the Home Guards Department, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh informed in a tweet.
The decision came against the backdrop of the meeting between NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday. Earlier Deshmukh had said that appropriate action would be taken based on investigation agencies findings in the Antilia bomb scare case.

All you need to know about new Maharashtra DGP Hemant Nagrale
Hemant Nagrale has received several awards like the President’s Police Medal, Vishesh Seva Padak and Antarik Suraksha Padak for his service over the years. He also played an instrumental role in saving people during the Mumbai terror attack in 2008.

Hemant Nagrale, an IPS from 1987 batch Maharashtra Cadre officer, will be holding the additional charge of Directorate General of Maharashtra Police.
The IPS officer pursued his schooling till the sixth standard from ZP School in Bhadrawati, located in Chandrapur district, and later moved to Nagpur where he completed his schooling from Patwardhan High School. Nagrale holds a degree of BE (Mechanical) from VRCE Nagpur (now VNIT) and is post-graduate in Master of Finance Management (JBIMS, Mumbai).
