He is suspending the result of that referendum of two weeks ago, in order to facilitate more dialogue with the Spanish Government. This is some of his speech. The government and myself propose that this Parliament Suspends the effects of the independence declaration in order to establish dialogue, without which we cannot reach a solution. We want to de escalate the tension, in order to work towards putting into practice the results of the referendum.
