At the birthday celebration at the VFW in Dupont, Seabees gathered to recognize Lieutenant Commander Virginia "Ginger" York, who served as a nurse in the Navy.
Amphibious Construction Battalion 2, based out of Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek, was one of two unique battalions in the country. Its trace back to July 14, 1943, when it was commissioned at Camp Peary in Williamsburg. It will officially be deactivated March 31.

Kenneth (Ken) Mann, age 71, was last seen at his home in Albion. He was supposed to have an appointment in Mt Carmel but never made it. Ken is 6'1" tall and weighs approximately 195 LBS. He was last seen wearing blue jeans with a brown leather belt, a light green L/S shirt (possibly with a T-shirt under it), and SAS Shoes. Ken walks with a bowlegged step and was expected to have knee replacement surgery. He was last seen driving a Silver 2002 Chevy Avalanche with Illinois registration of 2764674 B-truck. The vehicle has at least one Navy Seabees decal on the rear window, possibly two. Ken is a family man, and they are extremely concerned for his health and whereabouts.
