Its the only major memorial thats dedicated to women who served their country. We have over three million women who have worn the uniform of the united states. This memorial was dedicated in 1997. Over 40,000 people lined memorial avenue from the bridge to the memorial. Women from world war i through the current times in 1997. The memorial is on 4. 2 acres of park service land.
