National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) projects a credit potential of Rs 45,957 crore for the state of Assam for the financial year 2024-25 in the State Credit Seminar held on.
The credit seminar was held on Thursday in Guwahati. Of the total projected credit potential, as much as Rs 21529.00 crore is towards Agriculture and Allied activities. Further, credit potential of Rs 19012.00 crore has been projected towards MSME sector, while credit potential for Informal Credit – SHGs / JLGs have been pegged at Rs 2204.00 crore; Housing and Education Sector was projected at Rs 2239.00 crore.
Equipment worth crores of rupees was procured by the Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP) for the development of the beneficiaries of the tribal communities.
DIPHU With an aim to boost the living standards of the rural people, Amri Helping Hands Society (AHHS), a rural-based NGO has handed out their helping hands by implementing various livelihoods programmes for women empowerment in the rural areas of Amri and Chinthong block in West Karbi Anglong district of Assam. Presently, AHHS is working with women weavers where 90 SHG members were given the training to establish small units post-training funded by NABARD. The AHHS has also completed their training for 26 SHG members in Ginger processing (Ginger paste and ginger powder) which are already being sold in the market by village youth.
