Dimapur, Nov. 13 (EMN): The Native Trax Society (NTS) will be organising the Naga Gala from Dec. 3 to the 10th as part of the Hornbill Festival at Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre, 6th Mile, Sovima, Chümoukedima. The Naga Gala will feature a cosplay competition in collaboration with Dimapur Anime Guild and the first ever ‘Naga Thali Challenge’ eating competition on December 3. The competition, on the theme ‘Dangerously Delicious’, is being held to promote and put the spotlight on the unique Naga cuisine to help boost tourism and present Nagaland as a unique destination, an update stated. This event will pit champion eaters against one another in their bid to finish a huge ethnic Naga meal including but not limited to generous helpings of rice, meat, King Chilli etc. The event will also feature an art exhibition during the same period. Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): The Music Awards of Nagaland (MAN) which will be celebrating its 14th edition this year continues to elicit huge support from the music community. An update from Native Trax Society (NTS) informed that the entries were officially closed on Oct. 15 where a huge number of entries were received. After thorough screening, 54 entries have been nominated in various genres of the 14th edition of MAN. Awards will be presented to the best song in each genre while awards will also be given away in technical categories such as Best Music Video, Best Video Director, Best Sound Engineer, Best Producer, Best Songwriter/ Lyricist and Song of the Year. Except for Song of the year award, all other categories will be decided by an esteemed panel of judges. Song of the Year award is a public choice award which will go to the nomination that secures the highest number of views on the MAN Youtube channel, the update further informed. Dimapur, Oct. 5 (EMN): Looking at the rising number of artistes in the R&B genre and also the trend of many singers doing cover versions of popular songs, the Native Trax Society (NTS) has decided to introduce two new categories viz. R&B and Cover song for the 14th Music Awards of Nagaland (MAN) this year. The NTS in an update issued on Oct. 5 informed that submission of entries to the newly introduced categories will be accepted for this year’s edition of the annual Music Awards of Nagaland (MAN). However, the cover songs will not be eligible for the ‘Song of the Year’ award. Entry Forms and rules are available for download from MAN Facebook page and Instagram handle musicawardsnagaland.
The 13th Music Awards of Nagaland 2021 Awards Ceremony was held on October 16 at the Regional Centre of Excellence for Music & Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma, Kohima. A total of 18 awards were handed out to the artistes in different categories.
