On Feb. 4, a caller reported about eight snowmobiles were on private property and traveling at high speeds near their turkey barns. The noise can lead to turkeys trampling themselves to death.
A wood room in a residence on Mary Yellowhead Road in Ogema was reported as on fire on Saturday, Nov. 5, according to an emergency dispatch report. The ceiling was reportedly burning around a pipe. All occupants evacuated safely. The fire was extinguished after about 80 minutes.
The names, conditions and medical transport status of the injured individuals were not included in the Becker County emergency service report. The incident is under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
On Tuesday, March 8 at 7:21 p.m., near the 46000 block of Native Loop, Ponsford, after being reportedly sideswiped on the roadway, a 32-year-old Ponsford woman followed the offending vehicle and, after coming to a stop, assaulted the other driver, an 18-year-old Ponsford woman. No medical attention was needed at the scene and the 32-year-old was arrested. Also, at 4:17 p.m., on Old Mill Drive, Osage, a 24-year-old Osage woman was reportedly elbowed in the face multiple times by a 21-year-old Osage man. She also punched the man in the face following the assault. The case is under investigation.
