A roof fire was reported in Frazee on Friday, March 10. Fire crews extinguished the blaze after about five hours, and all occupants evacuated safely, according to a dispatch report.
On Feb. 4, a caller reported about eight snowmobiles were on private property and traveling at high speeds near their turkey barns. The noise can lead to turkeys trampling themselves to death.
On Monday, Feb. 14 at 8:56 p.m., on the 27000 block of County Road 141, Detroit Lakes, a 31-year-old Detroit Lakes man struck a 30-year-old Detroit Lakes woman. The woman called her mother since she was too afraid to call the police. Her mother called the police to the residence. The man was arrested in connection with the incident. No medical transport was required.
On Friday evening, Dec. 10, a two-vehicle crash near Lake Melissa on Highway 59 injured two. One of the drivers fled the scene on foot and remains at-large. Two people were transported to a nearby medical clinic for treatment. Also, on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 2:04 p.m., a caller from South Carolina said they sent $1,500 worth of camera equipment to an address in Becker County in a sale organized over Facebook. The package was delivered earlier in the week and payment for the items was never received. The buyer has cut off all contact with the seller. The case is under investigation.
