Guest nancy pelosi had never been on the cover of time or any National Magazine despite having become the first woman speaker of the house, and we felt like it was time to take a look at the whole person, the profile. So i was assigned the piece but i was not all that interested in her and it was only when i andted interviewing her looking into her background that i realized obviously someone who will go down in American History both as a groundbreaking figure as the first woman speaker and i think one of the most congressional figures in her time.
