Children, just young teens police say seen on video attacking two men and one pretty badly and plays out in front of the washington hilton here and appears to escalate after a teen boy appears to strike an older man before a groupes c over, eventually forcing that man to the ground as that secondr olde man runs inside. Those teens appear to stop that victim as more join in. Boys and girls. One deliveralng a fin violent kick to that mans face before a girl comes over and apparently spits on that victim as he lies on the ground just feet from that front entrance here of that hilton hotel. Those teens then run off towards connecticut. Now back out live as you saw a pretty violent attack. Police do believe that those teens are between 13 and 14 years old. They believe as well that someone out there knows who those teensare. As for that man who was hurt, he was taken to the hospital and treated f injuries, including damage to his eye socket. Video we shot just minutes after this crash. At this point investigators say that they actually have four different angeles of this crash. They also have video to them available that was shot aboard that tesla vehicle. We talked very briefly with the man who owns that tesla. He says he rented through a Service Called get around, and it was the renter who was driving the vehicle. This is what the owner of that tesla told us just a few minutes ago. The message showed up and says, your car is not drivable. And something failed. And i was shocked. Douldnt believe because its kind of weird message, right . But then i received a call from tesla roadside assistance, and the guy was saying, the car was in an accident. Are you okay . Black tesla. Now, the tesla was actually a rental car. I talked with the owner a few minutes ago who said he rented out the tesla yesterday afternoon through the get around app. Based on the Surveillance Video theyve seen from nearby hotels, it looks like the woman driving the tesla was speeding up Taylor Street and ran the red light at o fairel. As she drove through the intersection, the tesla was broad sided by the mini cooper and caused the tesla to spin around and hit a couple who was walking in the cross walk. Police say the husband and wife were visiting San Francisco from clovis, which is near fresno and both were in their 50s. The husband has died. The wife is in serious condition at San Francisco general hospital. Its very upsetting. What are we at now, 14 or 15 fatalities, involving vehicle visit ped in the city. Its becoming very upsetting. Now from abc 7, live breaking news. Breaking news happening near San Franciscos union square. Take a look, a man from the Central Valley died and his wife is fighting for her life after a tesla hit them at about 2 30 this afternoon. Witnesses told police the tesla was speeding when it ran a red light, heading northbound on taylor street. Video surveillance confirms it ran the red light. At taylor and ofarrell. And the mini cooper striking the tesla, which drove the tesla to hit two pedestrians in the crosswalk, spinning it into an unattended parked vehicle and landing on top of the sidewalk. Both drivers escaped without being hurt. Police tell us theyve obtained a memory chip from the tesla. Investigators hope theyll find data that can help them learn more about this afternoons tragedy.
