Hardee’s now open in Greenville

A new Hardee’s in Greenville opened Friday, Feb 19. The restaurant is addressed to the new location of 699 Wagner Avenue and is open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

GREENVILLE Hardee’s is now open in Greenville at the new location of 699 Wagner Avenue. The restaurant officially opened at 5 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 19. With this opening, Hardee’s brings an array of classic American cuisine back to Greenville after the previous Hardee’s, located on Sweitzer Street, closed in the mid-1990s.
Snow causes school cancellations, icy roads

Road crews spent the weekend and early Monday clearing the way for traffic in Greenville and Darke County.

DARKE COUNTY State, county and municipal road crews were busy over the weekend and well into Monday, clearing roads after Darke County saw its first significant snowfall of the 2021 winter season.
WDTN Channel 2 reported Greenville saw 4.5 inches of snow fall by Sunday morning. Versailles recorded 5 inches of snow. Areas south of Darke County saw lesser amounts.
Snow turned into a rainy mix during the day Sunday. Temperatures dropped into the mid 20s overnight, with additional light snow, causing some refreeze on roads.
Commissioners discuss improvements, airport

GREENVILLE The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Monday afternoon to discuss facilities management, the prosecutor’s office, and the Darke County Airport. Commissioners Matt Aultman, Mike Stegall, and Larry Holmes were all present.
Rick Lee, Darke County Facilities and Safety Manager, presented price quotes for P2P (Point to Point) systems reconfiguring the VAV box controllers at the Darke County Job and Family Services building. The total for all repairs is $7,585 and is scheduled to be completed within 30 days. The motion was approved.

GREENVILLE The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Wednesday afternoon to discuss vouchers and county airport projects. Commissioners Matt Aultman, Mike Stegall, and Larry Holmes were all present.
The meeting began with a motion to approve vouchers dated Jan. 13 for county bills, including any “then and now” certificates, in the amount of $78,615.12 from the general fund, and $133,970.28 from outside funds, for a total of $212,585.40. The motion was passed.
Arcanum talks grants, drainage project

ARCANUM The Arcanum Village Council met Tuesday evening to discuss economic matters, police department grants, and the northwest drainage project.
Mayor Bonnie Millard began the meeting by appointing Mary Stephens to the Board of Tax Review. Stephens is currently an administrative specialist for the local government in Arcanum.
Millard also commended the Arcanum administration and city council for increases in the general fund.
