The Arcanum Village Council met Tuesday evening to discuss progress on the “Trojan Estates,” housing development, and to appoint a new special counsel to the village.

ARCANUM Work on the “Trojan Estates,” housing development in Arcanum is moving along nicely, the village council reported during their meeting on Tuesday evening. All council members and administrators were in attendance.
The meeting began with a report by Village Solicitor Nicole Pohlman in which she informed council that she recently joined the Darke County Public Defender’s Commission. In light of this, Pohlman will be unable to prosecute cases in court for the village, but will remain the village solicitor and continue to provide legal advice. ARCANUM The Arcanum Village Council met Tuesday evening to discuss police grants, a new stoplight, and developments in Ivester Park. All council members were present.
Village Administrator Bill Kessler reported that he had received a complaint about the hardness of the town’s water. He noted that this complaint was valid, but also stated that the village water is up to EPA standards. He said the village does not soften water as much as what a home softener would, and if the water was too soft, it would begin to eat away at the pipes. Kessler also said that the village snow removal was going fantastic and praised the workers for their commitment to clearing the roads in a timely manner.

ARCANUM The Arcanum Village Council met Tuesday evening to discuss economic matters, police department grants, and the northwest drainage project.
Mayor Bonnie Millard began the meeting by appointing Mary Stephens to the Board of Tax Review. Stephens is currently an administrative specialist for the local government in Arcanum.
Millard also commended the Arcanum administration and city council for increases in the general fund.
