Police didnt intervene. Im ken wayne. And im heather holmes. They spun their wheels as part of a dangerous side show and it went on for several minutes without any officers on the scene. Paul chambers is here now after asking opd questions about how they plan to respond to these street antics. Reporter side shows are pretty common in the city of oakland. They had 16 officers dedicated the monitoring clubs and areas where side shows are popular. There were several side shows in the city. When we called the police, they said they didnt have any record of it. However, when we listened to police radio traffic, they said otherwise. This was the scene just before midnight near the 880 northbound. In a video, you dont see any oakland officers. We asked police about the event. They said there was no record of it but the record proved otherwise. There are probably 30 to 40 vehicles out here and probably oh, 100 people. They are taking up the intersection.
