– Student-athletes from Lewis Middle School in Paso Robles competed in the Central Coast Middle School Wrestling League Championships on May 14. The school took home the championship by beating out Atascadero, Flamson, Laguna, Los Osos, and Mesa middle schools.
– Bearcat wrestlers were recognized for winning Division 2 Central Section CIF championship at the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District Board of Trustees meeting held this week. The student athletes received a certificate and a Bearcat t-shirt.
– Last weekend the Central Section Masters Tournament was held at North High School in Bakersfield. As a team, the Paso Robles High School wrestling placed 12 out of 118 schools. Five Paso Robles High School wrestlers qualified for the state wrestling tournament next week at Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield.
– Over the weekend, the Paso Robles High School wrestling team won CIF Division 2, beating Hanford High School by over 20 points. Paso Robles had three champions, two-second placers, and will now be taking a total of 11 student-athletes to the Central Section Championships this weekend in Bakersfield.
