throughout the day. now we ve got a large area of steady rain that is now moving through the region. these are scenes from earlier this afternoon wheree had the traffic with road stray really snarled a bit. these are some folks walking around georgetown. still not much rain there. earlier this afternoon, we look at those scenes there. still okay for strolling about. don t have any flooding around areas near washington yet. however, as we look at the radar, we continue to see it coming in out of the southeast heading toward the northwest. right now, we do have some steady rain falling in washington and around the beltway in fairfax, montgomery and prince george s counties. that is just going to continue here off and on through the night and into tomorrow. in fact, late tonight and by dawn tomorrow, we could have heavy downpours that may cause ponding of water. now, as we look at the rainfall we ve had the last 24 hours, we ve had a half to 2/3 of an inch in washington. farther
