Sale of firearms and ammo and outlawed possession of handguns by all city residents. The law was struck down by the courts under a challenge by the nra. Then this week the board of supervisors passed mark farrells legislation that would require videotaping of all gun sales and the weekly reporting of ammo sales to the Police Department. Now, gun buyers here already have to fill out a detailed form, go through a background check and waiting period. But having a videotape of the purchase sending it to local police is one regulation too many according to the owner. What we dont do is voluntarily give private information to the Police Department voluntarily. We just dont do that. The people are very private about their information.
