EDMONTON - Fans are welcome. Players are free to leave their hotels and the arena to walk the streets. But to United States coach Nate Leaman, this year's world junior hockey championships feels like it's being held at the peak of COVID-19.
Nate Leaman, who will coach the United States at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship, said that while winning back-to-back titles at the event would be a great feat, it certainly isn t the motivating force behind repeating as champion.
The American team leadership will have a Big Ten flair, with former Michigan standout Thomas Bordeleau and Notre Dame star Landon Slaggert named alternate captains.
